Updated July 29, 2026
Sony dropped the announcement on July 28, and it’s a genuinely solid month. One massive open-world zombie game, one brand-new co-op day-one release, and one indie horror game that’s become a cult favorite since it launched back in 2022.
Here’s the full lineup, what platforms each game hits, and what else is bundled in with your PS Plus membership this month.
What Are August’s PS Plus Monthly Games?
Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition, Big Walk, and Signalis, all playable from August 4 through August 31.
These are the free monthly games included with every PS Plus tier, Essential, Extra, and Premium. Once you claim a game before it rotates out, it’s yours to keep in your library for as long as your subscription stays active.
| Game | Platforms | Genre |
|---|---|---|
| Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition | PS5, PS4 | Open-world zombie action |
| Big Walk | PS5 | Co-op adventure and puzzle |
| Signalis | PS4 | Survival horror |
What Is Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition?
It’s an open-world zombie survival game where you play as Aiden Caldwell, exploring a hostile city by day and night.
Rival factions are only part of the danger. A virus has turned most of the population into monsters, and how The City survives depends partly on choices you make along the way. Combat, parkour traversal, and a branching story all come together here, and you can play the whole thing in up to four-player co-op, hosting your own game or dropping into someone else’s to see how their choices played out differently from yours.
What Is Big Walk?
It’s a cooperative multiplayer adventure about exploring an open world together using talking, tools, and teamwork.
Big Walk drops a group of friends into a wide-open world full of puzzles and things to discover. Communication is the real mechanic here. You’ll need to stay in contact using whatever tools are available, and figure out new ways to get your point across when normal communication suddenly stops working. It’s not all puzzle-solving either. There’s plenty of room to just hang out, watch the sunset, or mess around with a friend’s binoculars. This is a day-one release for PS Plus, meaning it launches on the service the same day it releases anywhere else.
What Is Signalis?
It’s a retro-inspired survival horror game about Elster, a technician searching for her lost partner in a decaying facility.
Signalis leans on classic survival horror structure, limited resources, tight inventory management, and slow-building dread, wrapped in a surreal, retrotech sci-fi setting. It first launched back in 2022 and has built a strong cult following since, with plenty of praise for its atmosphere and emotional storytelling. If you’ve been meaning to try it, this is the month to do it for free.
Best If You’re Playing With Friends
- Big Walk is built entirely around group communication and teamwork
- Dying Light 2 supports up to four-player co-op
- Both let you host your own session or drop into someone else’s
Best For a Solo Session
- Signalis is a tight, story-driven single-player experience
- Dying Light 2’s story and choices land differently played alone
- Good pick if you just want a quiet weekend with a controller
What Else Comes With PS Plus This Month?
A free MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls PlayStation Plus Pack becomes available starting August 6.
The pack includes five avatars themed around Captain America, Storm, Spider-Man, Doctor Doom, and Ghost Rider, plus a set of in-game Result Screen Character Poses featuring 20 characters, including Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, and Peni Parker. PS Plus members need to redeem and download the pack from PlayStation Store to unlock it, and it’s set to remain available until August 6, 2027.
Don’t Forget July’s Games Before They’re Gone
You have until August 3 to claim Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, For the King II, and CrossCode.
Once August 4 hits, these current PS Plus Essential games rotate out and get replaced by the new lineup. If you haven’t added them to your library yet, this is the last stretch to do it.
